At Practicum, we created an English course for IT specialists to get visible results and for you to acquire teaching soft skills in a new field. There’s no need for special IT knowledge at the start. Dive into educational content and immerse yourself in a new IT environment at your own pace.

Practice-based teaching methods

Each student has one-to-one classes with a tutor. There’s also a speaking session with a foreign IT mentor to apply knowledge in a real conversation. Classes are based on the sample situations from IT worklife. This way students study exactly what will come in useful.

Working process

Methodologists made a unique IT-oriented course for you to teach. After the class, fill in a student’s card to track the progress. Review all the recorded meetings with a foreign IT mentor to stay informed.

Here the language is a tool, not a final goal

This course is designed for students to acquire soft skills needed for IT. Each class explores real working situations, such as a job interview or code review.

What are your main requirements?

You’re a good fit for our team if you have experience tutoring English to adults. An advantage is a C1 (or higher) level of English, any English for specific purposes (ESP) experience and an interest in the IT field.

How do I plan my workload?

An average number of working hours per week — 20 hours.

We provide our tutors with a busy workload from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Set the schedule and we’ll find students that are also free at that time. You can change it later if you want.

Each class you’ll have the same students so it’s easier for you and them to see the progress.

How am I going to get paid?

Each tutor has a fixed hourly pay rate of 600₽.

This rate applies to a 45-minute class with a student and a review of their meeting with a foreign IT specialist. You’ll receive your salary according to the fixed pay rate and number of classes.

The payroll schedule — monthly or semi-monthly — depends on the type contract you’ll have.
